A contrary position would reflect a too narrow view of higher education and its proper objectives. 今天是本人第一戰(zhàn)，地點在加州的圣地亞哥，趁著腦子還熱乎來分享一些經(jīng)驗。

　　Argument：15. Happy Pancake House restaurants，butter has been replaced by margarine 那篇。個人覺得不難。

　　說一些作文的注意事項，平時用PP2練得時候是可以用ctrl+C 復(fù)制的，真正考試的時候不行，不過可以先選中要復(fù)制的部分，然后摁兩下剪切，這樣就可以無限復(fù)制了，尤其是遇到比較長的名詞, 比如“Happy Pancake House restaurants”，用起來非常爽，本人打字速度比起大家真的差很遠，所以只好想辦法取巧。

　　順序是VQVQV，第一個V個人覺得做的很好，之后的Q很普通，能從頭到尾檢查一遍還剩幾秒。然后是休息。

　　回來之后的那個V很難，我是拿不準的題就mark，結(jié)果做完之后沒Mark的就3，4道。填空的邏輯關(guān)系很晦澀，很多時候是用一句話來描述某個人/物特征，然后讓你概括選形容詞。對應(yīng)關(guān)鍵詞很多我都不認識，感覺背單詞還是王道。

　　接下來的說實話不難，但是有幾道題的題干又臭又長，會浪費很多時間。我做第一遍有兩道讀了半天沒明白到底問的什么，全做完還剩5分鐘，2分鐘解決了一道，剩下那一道不是很確定。

　　最后一個V和又很普通了，閱讀有機經(jīng)里的題。所實話，真心不確定哪一個是加試的，我當時十分希望是中間那個，可是看結(jié)果好像是最后那個加試，杯了個具。

　　下面說機經(jīng)，能想起多少就說多少。

　　數(shù)學：

　　1. 印象最深的一道是一個圖表題，柱狀圖，但柱子是橫著的。橫坐標是工作時間(分鐘)，縱坐標是5類食物，有2 pound 面包，1 dozen 雞蛋，XX牛奶 等等。就是告訴你要掙到買不同食物的工資，工人所需要的工作時間。題目有3到。都不難，但是問題都很繞。

　　2. 還有一個問的是關(guān)于簽證率的一個表，有三道題，都是問百分比的，最繞的是最后一道，題干里告訴你了總的男女比例，又告訴你簽證通過的男生比例(但搞不清楚到底是占男生人數(shù)的還是總?cè)藬?shù)的，表述異常晦澀)。問你簽證通過的女生比例。

　　3.有一道說1~100中的9個數(shù)，他們的median小于average，問average和50 哪個大。

　　Verbal:

　　1.一個邏輯閱讀題說有配偶的烏鴉對進入領(lǐng)地里的其他烏鴉攻擊性加強，當沒有配偶的烏鴉想進入有沒偶的烏鴉的領(lǐng)地覓食時，會發(fā)出一種聲音，這種聲音會吸引來更多沒配偶的烏鴉，問哪一個假設(shè)能證明烏鴉發(fā)出這種聲音對自己有利。選項A是說烏鴉在成群時不易受到攻擊(大概是這個意思)我當時時間緊，其它選項只是掃了一眼。

　　2.有一個填空是說一個( )的教授一直受人尊重當被問到原因時，他只是聳聳肩說道：我想是因為我20年來沒( )太多人。我填的“謙虛”和“得罪”。其它選項忘了，反正我覺得帶進去讀很通順。

"It is impossible for an effective political leader to tell the truth all the time. Complete honesty is not a useful virtue for a politician."

Is complete honesty a useful virtue in politics? The speaker contends that it is not, for the reason that political leaders must sometimes lie to be effective. In order to evaluate this contention it is necessary to examine the nature of politics, and to distinguish between shor-term and long-term effectiveness.

On the one hand are three compelling arguments that a political leader must sometimes be less than truthful in order to be effective in that leadership. The first argument lies in the fact that politics is a game played among politicians-and that to succeed in the game one must use the tools that are part-and-parcel of it. Complete forthrightness is a sign of vulnerability and naivete, neither of which will earn a politician respect among his or her opponents, and which those opponents will use to every advantage against the honest politician.

Secondly, it is crucial to distinguish between misrepresentation of factin other words, lies-and mere political rhetoric. The rhetoric of a successful politician eschews rigorous factual inquiry and indisputable fact while appealing to emotions, ideals, and subjective interpretation and characterizations.
